BMW 3 Series Fuel Economy
Before we dive into each configuration’s performance specs, let’s review the BMW Series fuel economy for each available model:
- 2021 BMW 330i Sedan – 26 mpg city / 36 mpg highway
- 2021 BMW 330i xDrive Sedan – 25 mpg city / 34 mpg highway
- 2021 BMW M340i Sedan – 23 mpg city / 32 mpg highway
- 2021 BMW M340i xDrive Sedan – 22 mpg city / 31 mpg highway
Each of the metrics listed above reflects the performance of the standard 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission when used in its automatic mode. A second manual mode lets you take control whenever the mood strikes.
We don’t yet have precise specs for the BMW 330e fuel economy, but we can tell you what’s expected! The latest 3 Series hybrid will offer a longer all-electric range, quicker acceleration, and comparable fuel efficiency, compared to yesteryear’s model.
BMW 3 Series Gas Mileage and Performance by Model
330i and 330 xDrive Sedans
Deciding to drive the entry-level 3 Series will never feel like a compromise. That’s not just because this classic sedan gets up to 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway! It’s also because it delivers an engaging and reliable performance for your daily drives through the Philadelphia area.
Both the 330i and the 330i xDrive receive the 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline-4, which offers 255 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque. With a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds, or 5.3 seconds with xDrive, the 3 Series runs roughshod over many lesser competitors.
M340i and M340i xDrive Sedans
The BMW brand’s M Performance nameplate is synonymous with superior performance. These models offer much more horsepower and torque for your Williamstown and Sewell adventures, for a comparatively small compromise on fuel economy.
The M340i and the M340i xDrive Sedans both receive the 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline-6. With 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, the M340i zips from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. With xDrive, that spec declines to a blistering 4.1 seconds! As noted above, fuel economy varies from 22-23 mpg in the city, and from 31-32 mpg on the highway, depending on the model you select. If you’re looking for even more power, you should definitely take a closer look at the BMW M3 interior.
330e and 330e xDrive Sedans
Under the hood of the 330e and the 330e xDrive Sedans, you’ll encounter a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline-4 and an eDrive 107-hp electric motor. Together, they offer up to 288 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 330e accelerates from 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds, and in 5.7 seconds with xDrive.
The hybrid BMW 3 Series gas mileage is sure to be even more impressive than the ratings earned by the rest of the lineup! However, it’s important to note that if you drive long enough to wear out the electric battery, your fuel economy will be comparable to that of the 330 xDrive Sedan. With that said, this model’s all-electric driving range is expected to jump by a significant margin this year. That means you’ll spend less time worrying about fuel consumption.
