Track Your BMW – Logging In for the First Time

If this is your first time tracking your BMW and you’ve never owned a BMW before, you’ve likely never logged into your My BMW account before. Here’s how to find your BMW production status if you’re logging in for the first time:

1. Visit the BMW USA site and select the option to register for a My BMW account.
2. Create your account and follow the instructions to ensure you can properly log in.
3. After your account has been created and you’ve successfully logged in, select “Track My BMW” on the “My Garage” menu.
4. Now add your vehicle. If you have your VIN, you can add that or you can also select “Enter Production Number” and use the production number instead. Keep in mind that if you use your production number, the exact specifications of the vehicle won’t be exact until the vehicle enters the production process.
5. Now you can select “My Vehicles” on the “My Garage” menu and choose the “Track Status” option.
6. You’ll be able to have a timeline of the production process for your BMW.

Track Your BMW – What To Do If You Already Have an Account

If you’ve owned a BMW before, there’s a good chance that you already have a My BMW account. If you’ve got a My BMW account already, here’s how you can track your BMW build process:

1. Visit the BMW USA site and select the option to log into your My BMW account. 
    
    
2. Choose the “My Garage” menu option and you may have to add your new vehicle for tracking if it isn’t already in there.
3. To add your vehicle, you can select “Track My BMW” on the “My Garage” menu and add your VIN or production number.
     
   
     
   

     Using a production number might not have the exact specifications of the build process but rest assured that’ll update once production starts.

4. Visit your virtual garage once more after your vehicle has been added and select the “Track Status” option.
5. You can now view the timeline of production for your BMW.

BMW Build Codes & What They Mean

While you can view your order status online once you’ve logged into My BMW, there’s a list of BMW build codes that the factories use internally to communicate where your BMW order is at. Have you ever wondered what the BMW factory status codes are that are used internally? Take a look below to find out:

• 0: Order deleted by BMW
• 17: Order not specified
• 37: Order is at BMW NA
• 87: Production week assigned
• 97: Order sent to AG
• 100: Order deleted by AG
• 101: Error in data transmitted
• 102: Special order (no production week)
• 105: Order out of production period
• 111: Order Accepted at AG
• 112: Order scheduled for production (before order status 112, you’ll still be able to update your order. Once the order status reaches 150, your vehicle is on the assembly line and can no longer be updated or have changes made).
• 150: Production started
• 151: Body shop started
• 152: Paint shop started
• 153: Assembly started
• 155: Production completed
• 160: Released for distribution
• 168: In AG stock
• 170: Waiting workshop
• 172: Planned for workshop
• 174: Workshop entry
• 176: Workshop complete
• 180: Waiting for export dispatch
• 181: Waiting for domestic dispatch
• 182: Scheduled for carrier delivery
• 190: In transit to the port of exit
• 191: Returned to BMW AG
• 193: Arrived at the port of exit
• 194: Selected for shipment
• 195: Shipped from the port of exit
