What is the difference between used and certified pre-owned? In truth, the precise distinctions will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Here’s a closer look at the BMW CPO program:

  • In order to be certified, a used BMW vehicle must be less than six years old. It must also have more than 300 miles, but fewer than 60,000.
  • A given used vehicle cannot be certified unless it has received all of its required services. If any repairs are required to restore it to factory condition, those repairs will be carried out by trained BMW technicians, using genuine OEM parts.
  • CPO vehicles are always sold with a Vehicle History Report from either CARFAX™ or AutoCheck® .

  • All BMW CPO vehicles are covered by whatever remains of the initial 4-year/50,000-mile BMW warranty. When this coverage expires—or if it is already expired at the time of your purchase—you’ll still be covered by a one-year CPO warranty with no mileage limit.
