The 2026 BMW X1 is a mid-generation, subcompact crossover SUV that is loaded with luxurious features. While most aspects of the new model year are identical to the 2025 X1, there are fresh paint color options. The additions to the color palette are Vegas Red, Dune Grey, Frozen Portimao Blue, and Night Dusk Blue.
The BMW X1 has a bold, sophisticated design with a tall stance. Both the roof and side windows are raked to create an athletic quality. The lower sides show off slanted definition that gives the illusion of forward momentum. On the front, the lower fascia is outlined by a body-colored element, and it turns upward on the ends. This fascia is flanked by deep, L-shaped elements. The headlights are styled with a pair of bent LED bars. The small grille is dressed up with vertical bars and has a squared-off look.
The two versions of the 2026 BMW X1 are the xDrive28i and the M35i. A turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine gives the xDrive28i 241 horsepower. A performance-tuned version of this turbocharged engine is in the M35i, and it produces 312 horsepower. These trim levels have standard all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic, dual-clutch transmission. The higher trim level adds adaptive suspension dampers and upgraded brakes.
The base trim level is intelligently outfitted to deliver comfort on the road. Its many features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, configurable ambient lighting, synthetic leather seats, a 10.7-inch touch display screen, a navigation system, a blind-spot warning system, a forward collision mitigation system, front and rear parking sensors, and a lane departure warning. The top trim level also includes a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and a wireless charging pad. Numerous options are offered for both trim levels.
